Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Hank resale: 87% of StockX sales now go below retail

In early 2025 almost nobody sold a Hank Black on StockX for less than its $220 retail price. In the last 90 days 87% did, and in the last nine days 96%. On GOAT the same shoe still sells above retail.

Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Hank OG Sole Black: 87% of StockX sales went below the $220 retail price; median sale $166 on StockX (11,097 sales) vs $231 on GOAT (563 sales), Jul 9 to Oct 6, 2026

On Kith's website the Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Hank Low lists at $382. It has been marked down to $191, and it is sold out. On StockX, the same black Hank with the melted-looking sole sold for a median $138 over the last nine days.

That is the story of the Hank in one shop page. It is one of the most-traded sneakers in resale: 11,097 StockX sales in the last 90 days, the 6th most of any shoe on our price checker. But on StockX it now sells for less than it cost new. In the first half of 2025, 2% of StockX sales went below its $220 launch retail. In the last 90 days, 87% did. In the last nine days, 96%.

Line chart of monthly median sale price for the Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Hank OG Sole Canvas Low Black, January 2025 to September 2026, with a dashed line at the $220 launch retail. StockX in teal: about $250 to $260 through August 2025, $188 in September 2025, $160 in November, $137 in January 2026, $132 in May, no data in June, then $158 in July, $198 in August and $171 in September 2026. GOAT in grey: $275 to $279 in May to July 2025, $236 in November 2025, $223 in March 2026 and $233 in September 2026, above the retail line in every month except April 2025 (its first month) and June 2026.

It went from a premium to a discount in a year

The Hank Black (style code A05FW702) launched in June 2022 at $220, according to StockX's listing. Through August 2025 it resold above that on both marketplaces, at $250 to $280. Then StockX fell away: a $188 median in September 2025, $137 by January 2026.

Hank Black on StockX Sales Median sale Sold below $220 retail
Jan to Jun 2025 4,048 $260 2%
Jan to Apr 2026 15,156 $138
Jul 9 to Oct 6, 2026 11,097 $166 87%
Sep 28 to Oct 6, 2026 1,089 $138 96%

GOAT never followed. The identical shoe has sold for $218 to $245 there every month of 2026, and only 31% of its GOAT sales in the last 90 days went below $220. In the last 90 days a buyer paid a median $65 more on GOAT ($231) than on StockX ($166).

On Kith it lists at $382. On StockX, 96% of last week's pairs sold for less than the $220 it launched at.

Who is selling below retail?

Our data shows completed sales, not who the sellers are, so this part is reading the pattern, not proving it. Someone who paid full price does not usually sell for a third less. Pairs bought on markdown, like Kith's half-price sale, can. A falling price with rising sales, which is what StockX shows, is what more supply looks like. Size does not explain it either: on GOAT, the Hank Black's median sat between $219 and $251 in every size from US 4 to 13 since October 2025, so a shift toward cheaper sizes cannot move the price by $65.

It is also not a sign that people stopped wanting it. Maison Mihara Yasuhiro's share of StockX sales, measured on a fixed set of 31,189 shoes so new releases cannot inflate it, rose from 0.33% in early 2025 to 2.06% in summer 2026, about six times as much.

The hype peaks every July

Google search interest in "Maison Mihara" in the US peaks each summer, the canvas-sneaker season: July 2024, July 2025 (the highest point since 2024) and July 2026. The resale price broke right after the biggest of those peaks, in September 2025. Search interest in September and October 2026 is the lowest since at least January 2024.

On social media the brand travels through creators and celebrities rather than drops: TikTok has whole tags for its pink pairs and for famous people wearing it, including K-pop idols. That kind of fame can move a lot of pairs without making any single pair scarce.

The buyers are not where you might expect

GOAT recorded buyer locations for 16,176 Maison Mihara Yasuhiro sales. Compared with all other footwear GOAT shipped to the same states, its buyers are more concentrated in the South and Mid-Atlantic than sneaker buyers overall, and less concentrated in New York.

State Share of MMY sales Share of all other GOAT footwear Ratio
Georgia 7.4% 4.5% 1.65x
Virginia 5.9% 3.7% 1.58x
North Carolina 5.5% 3.5% 1.57x
Illinois 5.4% 3.7% 1.44x
New York 6.5% 9.5% 0.68x

Chicago is its top city on GOAT, ahead of Philadelphia and Brooklyn. It also skews to smaller feet: 32% of its GOAT pairs were under US size 8 in the last 90 days, against 20% of all other footwear.

Peterson went the other way

The Peterson, the Hank's lower-profile sibling, slid with it to a $132 StockX median in February 2026. Since August it has climbed back: $217 in September 2026, while the Hank sat at $171. Its StockX sales fell from 3,617 in July to 337 in September as the price rose. Colours are a different market again: the Peterson in red sold for a median $293 and in clear blue $282 in the last 90 days, but only 115 and 79 pairs.

What it means

For a buyer, most recent StockX sales of the Hank Black went below its launch retail, and StockX and GOAT prices for the identical pair have been far apart for a year. Our price checker shows each site's median, and the Hank Black page has its sales history. For sellers the gap runs the other way, before fees; the where to sell tool shows what each site pays out. These are past sales, not a forecast: the August 2026 rebound to $198 shows the price can turn.

How we measured this

Methodology: GOAT and StockX resale sales recorded by SneakerPulse, January 1, 2025 to October 6, 2026 (whole UTC days), USD. Hank Black is StockX listing "Hank OG Sole Canvas Low Black" and GOAT listing "Hank OG Sole Canvas Low 'Black White'", both style code A05FW702. Retail: StockX's product listing gives $220 and a June 1, 2022 release; Kith's product page showed $382 marked down to $191, sold out, when checked on October 8, 2026. Medians with distribution-free 95% intervals: Jan-Jun 2025 $260 [$259, $261], n = 4,048; Jan-Apr 2026 $138 [$138, $138], n = 15,156; Sep 14-27 2026 $178 [$174, $182], n = 662; Sep 28-Oct 6 $138 [$135, $140], n = 1,089. Price differences use Mann-Whitney tests; the size share a two-proportion test. Brand share uses a fixed panel of 31,189 StockX shoes (42 Maison Mihara Yasuhiro) with sales in both Q1 2025 and Q3 2026; our StockX feed has a gap from May 22 to July 3, 2026 and no June 2026 data. State shares: GOAT sales with a US buyer state, December 2024 to February 2026 plus July to October 2026 for best sellers (GOAT stopped publishing locations in between), 16,176 Maison Mihara Yasuhiro sales vs 5.3 million other footwear sales; each state's share tested with an exact binomial test, Benjamini-Hochberg across all 30 states with 100+ sales; the five shown have q < 0.001. These count sales, not individual buyers. Search interest: Google Trends, "Maison Mihara", United States, weekly, January 2024 to October 6, 2026, averaged by month (100 = the peak week). Social media notes come from TikTok's public topic pages, not from a measured sample. StockX sells new pairs only; GOAT includes used pairs. Resale sales recorded, not total market size.
