Air Jordan 4 resale prices a year later: the same pairs sell for 10.6% less

We matched 366 Air Jordan 4 listings to their own sales a year earlier. 272 now sell for less, and the typical pair is down 10.6%, while the typical sneaker outside the 4 slipped 1.4%.

Air Jordan 4 on resale: same pairs, 10.6% cheaper than last year. 3 in 4 listings fell (272 of 366, same listing). All other sneakers -1.4% (20,368 listings). GOAT and StockX sales, July 15 to October 12, 2026 vs 2025.

The Air Jordan 4 is everywhere in this week's release coverage, from new colorways to another round of the Bred. It is also a shoe many people assume holds its price: buy a good pair, wear it carefully, and it will resell for about what you paid.

Over the last year, it did not. We took every Air Jordan 4 listing that sold at least five times in both July 15 to October 12, 2025 and the same dates in 2026, and compared each listing with itself. The typical pair now sells for 10.6% less than it did a year ago, and 272 of 366 listings fell. Over the same dates, the typical sneaker outside the 4 slipped 1.4%.

Dot chart of the median change in the same listing's resale price from July-October 2025 to July-October 2026, with 95% intervals. Air Jordan 4 -10.6% (366 listings), Air Jordan 5 -8.2% (225), Air Jordan 3 -8.1% (236), Air Jordan 1 -7.4% (1,817), Air Jordan 6 -3.6% (158), Nike Dunk Low -3.2% (1,403), all other sneakers -1.4% (20,368), Air Force 1 +1.6% (688).
Same listing, a year apart: the Air Jordan 4 fell furthest of the big Jordan retros

The 4 fell more than any big Jordan retro

Comparing each listing with itself matters. A single median across all pairs can move just because the mix changed, for example because a cheap new release sold thousands of pairs. Same-listing changes take that out: a 'Cave Stone' is only ever compared with a 'Cave Stone' on the same marketplace.

On that basis the Air Jordan 4's median change is -10.6%, and the 95% interval, the range the true figure most likely sits in, runs from -11.9% to -8.6%. That is clearly further down than the rest of the sneaker market at -1.4% (-1.8% to -1.0%; a rank test puts the gap at q < 0.001, meaning it survives correction for every test behind this post).

The other big Jordan retros fell too, just less: the 5 by 8.2%, the 3 by 8.1%, the 1 by 7.4% and the 6 by 3.6%. The Dunk Low is down 3.2%. The Air Force 1 is the one well-known model that held level, up 1.6% with an interval that touches zero.

Three in four Air Jordan 4 listings sell for less than they did a year ago. Across all other sneakers it is just over half.

That last comparison: 75% of the 4s whose price moved fell (272 of 363), against 53% of other sneaker listings (10,556 of 20,076).

The biggest sellers split

The most-traded pairs tell the story in miniature. The 2025 'White Cement' barely moved. The 'Cave Stone' and the 2025 Undefeated collaboration lost about a fifth.

Same listing Jul-Oct 2025 Jul-Oct 2026 Change
'White Cement' 2025, StockX $249 (13,819 sales) $246 (3,870) -1%
'White Cement' 2025, GOAT $255 (14,543) $245 (3,376) -4%
'Rare Air' White Lettering, StockX $210 (9,437) $192 (2,508) -9%
'Cave Stone', StockX $205 (7,482) $153 (4,164) -25%
Undefeated 2025, StockX $356 (9,656) $288 (1,130) -19%
'Fear' 2024, StockX $210 (7,434) $231 (1,446) +10%

GOAT agrees on each pair it also carries: 'Rare Air' $208 to $193, 'Cave Stone' $197 to $160, Undefeated $372 to $301. The 'Fear' is the exception at the top of the list, 10% higher on StockX.

The steepest falls are among older, pricier pairs. The 2020 'Black Cat' went from $900 to $590 on StockX (178 sales a year ago, 102 this year), and over the same months the 2025 'Black Cat' retro arrived: our StockX record of it starts on October 10, 2025, and it has sold 6,445 times since July at a median $312. The timing fits a familiar pattern, an older pair getting cheaper once a new version of it is easy to buy, but one pair cannot prove that.

Kids' and women's 4s fell too

The drop is not confined to men's sizes. Kids' listings (GS, PS and TD) are down a median 8.0% (112 listings) and women's listings 15.7% (43 listings). Men's listings are down 10.6% (211). The intervals for the three groups overlap, so the data cannot say one group fell faster than another.

The marketplaces agree on the direction: GOAT listings are down 8.6% (153 listings) and StockX listings 11.3% (213). The rest of the market is flat on GOAT (+0.5%) and down 2.7% on StockX over the same dates, so the 4 is well below its marketplace on each.

What it means if you own a pair, or want one

If you bought an Air Jordan 4 a year ago, the record says a typical pair sells for about a tenth less today, and a few of the heavily-made colorways for a fifth or more. If you are shopping, the same numbers mean many 4s cost less on resale than they did last autumn. The 2025 'White Cement' is the clearest exception among the big sellers.

Why the 4 fell more than most is not something sales data alone can answer. Jordan Brand has released Air Jordan 4s at a steady pace, and more pairs in circulation is a plausible reason for softer prices, but we did not measure supply. These are past sales, not a forecast, and not a reason to buy or sell.

To check your own pair, the Air Jordan 4 page has today's median and the band half of pairs sold in, and the price checker breaks any listing down by size. For one colorway in detail, see what the 2025 'White Cement' sells for by size.

How we measured this

Methodology: completed sales on GOAT and StockX recorded by SneakerPulse, July 15 to October 12, 2026 against July 15 to October 12, 2025, sale prices above $0 and under $30,000, accessories and football, soccer and baseball cleats excluded. Air Jordan 4 means listing names matching "Jordan 4" as a whole word (Retro, RM, SE and collaborations; not the 40 or 45). Each listing's median sale price in 2026 is divided by its own median in 2025; listings need 5+ sales in both windows (366 Air Jordan 4 listings; 20,368 other sneaker listings). The headline is the median of those ratios, with a 95% interval from 2,000 bootstrap resamples. Rose/fell shares use exact binomial tests with Wilson intervals; the Air Jordan 4 vs other sneakers comparison uses a Mann-Whitney test. Benjamini-Hochberg correction across the 7 tests behind the headline claims (all, GOAT, StockX, men's, kids', women's, vs the market), all q < 0.05. Kids' and women's listings are identified from GS / PS / TD / women's markers in the name. StockX sales carry no size, so size mix within a listing is not controlled. Prices only: our record of recent weeks is still loading for some listings, so no change in sales volume is reported, and the sales counts in the table are not a measure of demand.
