Nike Doernbecher resale prices: last set's Air Max Plus is up 51%, its Jordan down 24%

Nike just unveiled the Doernbecher Freestyle 2027 shoes. The set before it, which first sold in January 2026, split in two on resale: the Air Max Plus climbed from $245 to $369, while the Air Jordan 17 Low slid from $389 to $297.

The Doernbecher Air Max Plus now sells 51% higher. $245 in its first 14 days (373 StockX sales), $369 over the latest 60 days (33 StockX sales). Same listing, StockX, January 13 to October 16, 2026.

Nike unveiled the Doernbecher Freestyle 2027 shoes this week: a new set of sneakers designed by patients of OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. Every year the same question follows the reveal. Do these pairs hold their price once the launch rush is over?

The set before this one gives a clear answer: it depends on the shoe. Of the four pairs we could follow on StockX from their first sale, the Air Max Plus now sells 51% above its first two weeks and the Air Force 1 Low 13% above. The Air Jordan 17 Low, by far the most traded pair in the set, sells 24% below.

Line chart of monthly median StockX sale prices for five shoes from the January 2026 Doernbecher set. The Air Max Plus rose from $245 in January to $379.50 in September. The Air Jordan 17 Low fell from $367 in January to $297 in September. The Air Force 1 Low rose from $158 to $185. The women's Vomero Plus moved between $160 and $222.50 and ended at $198. The women's V2K Run moved between $168 and $206 and ended at $176 in July, the last month with 15 or more sales.

The Air Max Plus climbed every few months

The Doernbecher Air Max Plus first sold on StockX on January 13, 2026. Over its first 14 days it sold 373 times at a median $245. Over the latest 60 days (August 18 to October 16) the same listing sold 33 times at a median $369.

That is 51% higher. The 95% interval, the range the true change most likely sits in, runs from 30% to 83% higher; it is wide because the recent sample is small. The climb was gradual rather than one spike: $270.50 in March, $293.50 in April, $329.50 in June, $379.50 in September.

The Air Force 1 Low took the same direction more slowly, from $159 (253 sales) to $180 (67 sales), 13% higher [10%, 18%]. On GOAT it rose by a similar 12%, from $159 to $178.

The Doernbecher Air Max Plus sold for $245 in its first two weeks. It now sells for $369.

The Jordan is the pair that slid

The Air Jordan 17 Low was the set's volume leader: 958 StockX sales in its first 14 days at a median $389. Over the latest 60 days it sold 104 times at $297, 24% lower [22%, 26% lower]. GOAT shows the same path, $416 down to $300, 28% lower.

A first-weeks slide is normal for a new sneaker. Across thousands of releases, the same shoe typically sold 14.4% lower twelve weeks after release. The Jordan 17 Low is down further than that, over a longer stretch. It still sells for more than any other pair in its set except the Air Max Plus.

January 2026 set, same listing First 14 days Latest 60 days Change
Air Max Plus (StockX) $245 (373 sales) $369 (33) +51%
Air Force 1 Low (StockX) $159 (253) $180 (67) +13%
Vomero Plus, women's (StockX) $194 (63) $205 (47) no clear change
Air Jordan 17 Low (StockX) $389 (958) $297 (104) -24%
Air Jordan 17 Low (GOAT) $416 (505) $300 (45) -28%

The women's Vomero Plus moved 6% higher, but the interval runs from 14% lower to 14% higher, so we cannot call it a change. The V2K Run and Air Max Dn8 had fewer than 20 recent sales, too few to measure.

Older Jordan Doernbechers sell for $292 to $2,002

The older sets show where the money ends up. Over the last 12 months (October 17, 2025 to October 16, 2026) the original Air Jordan 4 Doernbecher sold 35 times on StockX at a median $2,002. The Air Jordan 8 sold for $856 (46 sales) and the Air Jordan 5 for $670 (26).

Older Doernbecher pair, StockX Median, last 12 months Sales
Jordan 4 Retro Doernbecher $2,002 35
Jordan 8 Retro Doernbecher $856 46
Jordan 5 Retro Doernbecher $670 26
Jordan 14 Retro Doernbecher (2019) $414 94
Jordan 12 Retro Doernbecher (2017) $409.50 46
Jordan 3 Retro Doernbecher 'Hugo' $292 299

Not every older pair did as well. The Blazer Mid '77 'Ayman' sold for $95 and the Stefan Janoski 'Catalina' for $69 over the same 12 months. For the seven older listings with enough sales to compare a year apart, none moved by more than chance would explain.

What it means if you are watching the 2027 set

On this record, the brand on the box did not decide which Doernbecher held up. The Jordan in the last set gave back a quarter of its launch price while two Nike lifestyle pairs went the other way. These are past sales, not a forecast for the 2027 shoes, which have no sales yet.

You can check any pair's current price by size in our price checker, and the Air Max Plus page has the whole model's recent sales. For another set that dropped from its launch weeks, see Bad Bunny's adidas pairs.

How we measured this

Methodology: completed GOAT and StockX sales in the SneakerPulse record (StockX from October 23, 2024, GOAT from December 28, 2024), every listing with "Doernbecher" in its name, adult sneakers only (no kids' sizes or apparel), sales between $20 and $30,000, through October 16, 2026. "First 14 days" starts at a listing's first recorded sale, only for listings whose first sale came on or after January 15, 2025 and that have traded for 90+ days; the latest 60 days run August 18 to October 16, 2026; 20+ sales in both windows. Year-over-year compares the same 90 calendar days (July 19 to October 16) in 2025 and 2026, 20+ sales each. Each comparison uses a Mann-Whitney test with a bootstrap 95% interval on the ratio of medians, and Benjamini-Hochberg correction across all 13 tests in this post; the five changes called real (Air Max Plus, both Air Force 1 Low and both Air Jordan 17 Low listings) have q < 0.05. The 12-month table is descriptive. Recent weeks are still filling in our record, so this post compares prices only, not sales volumes. Past sales, not a forecast.
