Nike Ja 4 'Zombie' resale: last year's Ja 3 Zombie fell below retail, then climbed 17% this October
The Ja 4 'Zombie' drops for Halloween. Its predecessor, the Ja 3 'Zombie', sold for $183 in its launch week, slid to $96 by September, then jumped back to about $120 as October began. The Ja 2 'Nightmare' did the same thing a year earlier and gave it all back in November.
Nike's Ja 4 'Zombie' is due out on Halloween. Ja Morant's signature line has had a scary-season colourway every autumn since the Ja 1 'Halloween Zombie' in 2023. The new pair has no resale sales yet. The two before it do, and they tell the same story twice: a launch-week premium that fades, then a bump in the weeks before October 31.
Last year's Ja 3 'Zombie' (retail $140 on StockX) sold for a median $183 in its launch week. By September 2026 it was selling for $96. Then, at the end of September, it jumped back to about $120.

The Zombie lost its launch-week premium in three months
The Ja 3 'Zombie' sold 87 times on StockX in the week of October 13, 2025 at a median $183. From late October through December it settled between $142 and $149, just above retail. In the week of December 29 it slipped under $140 and stayed there: $110 by late January, $104 by May, $96 in the week of September 7, 2026.
GOAT shows the same slide. Over its first 14 days there (from October 10, 2025) the pair sold 183 times at a median $151. Over the latest 60 days it sold 74 times at $114, 24.5% lower (95% interval: 23% to 28% lower).
Last year's Zombie sold for $183 in its launch week. A year later it sells for $120.
Then October came back
From October 1 to 18, 2026 the Ja 3 'Zombie' sold 81 times on StockX at a median $120. Over August 15 to September 30 it sold 220 times at $102.50. That is 17% higher (95% interval: 10% to 26% higher), and it holds up after correcting for every test in this post.
Is that Halloween? The sales cannot separate it cleanly. Over the same two windows, the other 33 adult Ja listings with enough StockX sales moved a median of just 1% (19 rose, 12 fell, no clear direction). But five of those other Ja 3s rose as much as the Zombie or more, including the 'Hustle & Flow' (+31%) and 'Max Volume' (+21%). So the Zombie's jump is among the larger ones in the line, not one of a kind.
The Ja 2 'Nightmare', the 2024 pair, shows the pattern more plainly in its weekly medians. It sold between $88 and $95.50 a week from mid-September to early October 2025, then $110, $116 and $115 in the three weeks before Halloween. In the first week of November it was back to $94.
| Ja Halloween pair, StockX | Before | October | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ja 2 'Nightmare', 2025 | $88-$95.50 a week (Sep 15-Oct 6) | $110-$116 (Oct 13-27) | $91-$94 (Nov 3-24) |
| Ja 3 'Zombie', 2026 | $96-$98 (Sep 7-14) | $118-$121 (Sep 21-Oct 12) | not yet |
That table is descriptive: weekly medians of 17 to 50 sales each. Measured over the fixed windows we use for every pair (October 1-18 against August 15 to September 30), the Nightmare's 2025 rise was 4%, about the same as the rest of the Ja line that year (+5% median across 22 listings).
Most Ja launches fade
The Zombie's slide is the normal path for this line. Of the 20 adult Ja listings that first sold on StockX since January 2025 and have traded for at least 90 days, 18 now sell below their first 14 days. The median change is 29% lower, and 16 of those drops are clear after correction. On GOAT, 13 of 18 sell lower (median 11% lower).
The two StockX exceptions are limited pairs: the Ja 3 'White Label' (+12%) and the 'LX All-Star Warning Label' (+30%).
Where the Ja 4 sits before the Zombie
The Ja 4 already has four colourways with steady StockX sales. Two sell below retail and two above. The July 'Nightmare' (not a Halloween pair, despite the name) sits furthest under.
| Nike Ja 4, StockX, Jul 22-Oct 19, 2026 | Median sale | Sales | Retail |
|---|---|---|---|
| 'Nightmare' | $113 | 817 | $130 |
| 'Dark Mode' | $118 | 679 | $140 |
| 'Jaws' | $155 | 255 | $140 |
| 'Rise' | $178 | 399 | $130 |
Across both marketplaces, adult Ja 4s sold at a median $140 over the last 90 days (2,957 sales; half between $109 and $176), against $128 for the Ja 3. Of the 40 adult Ja listings with a StockX retail price, 25 sold below it over those 90 days.
What it means if you want the Ja 4 'Zombie'
On this record, the launch week was the most expensive time to buy the last Zombie, and early autumn the cheapest. Those are two past Halloween pairs, not a forecast for the Ja 4, and the October lift was small enough that much of the line rose with it.

How we measured this
Methodology: completed StockX and GOAT sales in the SneakerPulse record (StockX from October 24, 2024, GOAT from December 28, 2024), every Nike listing named Ja 1 to Ja 4, adult pairs only (no GS, PS or TD), sales between $20 and $5,000, through October 19, 2026. "First 14 days" starts at a listing's first recorded sale, only for listings first sold on or after January 15, 2025 with 90+ days of trading and 20+ sales in both windows; the latest 60 days end at October 19, 2026. The October comparison uses the same listing, October 1-18 against August 15 to September 30 of the same year, 15+ sales in each window. Each comparison uses a Mann-Whitney test with a bootstrap 95% interval on the ratio of medians, with Benjamini-Hochberg correction across all 43 tests behind this post (q < 0.05 called clear). Weekly medians in the chart and the Halloween table are descriptive. Retail prices are StockX's listed retail. Recent days are still filling in our record, so this post compares prices only, not sales volumes. Past sales, not a forecast.
