How much do Skeleton sneakers go up? The old Air Force 1s grew about 14% a year
Nike sold every Skeleton Air Force 1 for $130. The 2018 and 2019 pairs now resell for about $320 to $355, roughly 14% a year since release. The newer pairs grew far less, and over the last 12 months even the old ones slipped.

Ask anyone who has flipped sneakers for a few years and they will tell you about the skeletons. Nike drops a pair with a glowing x-ray foot printed on the side, people line up, and a few years later the pair is worth a lot more than they paid.
So how much do they actually go up? We pulled every item with "Skeleton" in its name from our GOAT and StockX sales: 90 sneakers, hoodies, jerseys, clogs, tees and toys, 11,259 sales recorded through October 6, 2026. The two oldest Skeleton Air Force 1s have grown about 14% a year from their $130 retail. The 2020 pair grew about a third as fast. And over the last year, most Skeleton items barely moved at all.

From $130 to $355: what each Skeleton AF1 is worth now
Nike has released four Skeleton Air Force 1 Lows, and StockX lists every one at the same $130 retail. Here is what each one sold for over the last 12 months, GOAT and StockX combined, and how fast that is from retail:
| Air Force 1 Skeleton | Median sale | Sales | Times retail | Growth per year since release |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| White (2018) | $355 | 33 | 2.7x | 13.5% |
| Black (2019) | $319.50 | 116 | 2.5x | 13.8% |
| Orange (2020) | $164 | 220 | 1.3x | 4.0% |
| Purple (2021) | $170 | 345 | 1.3x |
The two oldest pairs have compounded at roughly 14% a year for seven to eight years. The 2020 pair managed about 4% a year, and the 2021 pair sits only about $40 over retail. Fewer of the old pairs change hands, too: 33 and 116 sales in a year, against 220 and 345 for the newer ones.
Same shoe, same $130 price tag. The 2018 and 2019 pairs now go for about $320 to $355. The 2020 and 2021 pairs, about $165 to $170.
The climb is not a straight line
Growth per year is an average over the whole life of the shoe. It does not mean the price rises every year, and the last year shows it. Comparing the last 12 months with the 12 months before:
| Air Force 1 Skeleton | Oct 2024 to Oct 2025 | Oct 2025 to Oct 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| White (2018) | $402 | $355 | -11.7% |
| Black (2019) | $349.50 | $319.50 | -8.6% |
| Orange (2020) | $158.50 | $164 | +3.5% |
| Purple (2021) | $168 | $170 | +1.2% |
The two pairs that made the big gains gave some back. Across all 18 Skeleton listings with at least 10 sales in each of those two years, nine rose and nine fell, and the typical change was +2.6% (95% interval -6.6% to +10.3%). In other words, flat. Most of the Skeleton gains came in the years right after release, not recently.
Skeleton streetwear grew less, and one item fell below retail
Outside sneakers, the word "Skeleton" does much less work.
- The Travis Scott Cactus Jack for Fragment Skeleton hoodie (2021, $150 retail) sold for a median $174 over the last year, on 662 sales: about 1.2 times retail, after five years. Its StockX median rose 16% over the last year.
- The Travis Scott x Nike x FC Barcelona Retro 2000/01 Skeleton jersey is the most-traded Skeleton item we track, 5,070 sales in a year. It retailed at $125, opened around $180 on resale in August 2025, and has slid since: the median over the last 90 days was $118, and 64% of those 1,222 sales went below retail. (This is the wider retail version, not the limited match-worn El Clasico shirt from May 2025.)
- KAWS Skeleton tees fell about 14% to 16% in a year, to around $31 to $32. The Supreme Skeleton Tee (FW23) in black rose 27%, to $89.
What about Halloween?
Resellers often say to sell Skeletons in October. Our data says the month barely matters for price: in October 2025, 10 of 14 Skeleton listings sold for less than in August and September, and the typical change was -2.6%. The Skeleton Air Force 1s did sell a little more often in October, about 1.4 times a normal month. More in our Halloween sneakers breakdown.
What it means
The Skeleton reputation is real, but it rests on two shoes: the 2018 and 2019 Air Force 1s, which turned $130 into about $320 to $355 over seven to eight years. The newer pairs grew slowly, most Skeleton streetwear trades near retail, and over the last 12 months the group as a whole went sideways. These are past sales, not a forecast: nothing here says the next Skeleton release will follow the first two. You can look up any pair's latest sales in our price checker or browse the Air Force 1 page.
How we measured this
Methodology: GOAT and StockX resale sales recorded by SneakerPulse, whole UTC days through October 6, 2026, USD; StockX data starts October 24, 2024 and GOAT data December 28, 2024. "Skeleton items" are the 90 listings whose name contains "skeleton", all with at least one sale. Air Force 1 years combine the StockX and GOAT listings of the same style code (2018 BQ7541-100, 2019 BQ7541-001, 2020 CU8067-800, 2021 CU8067-500). Last-12-month medians (October 7, 2025 to October 6, 2026) with distribution-free 95% intervals: 2018 $355 [$303, $411], n = 33; 2019 $319.50 [$301, $338], n = 116; 2020 $164 [$160, $170], n = 220; 2021 $170 [$160, $175], n = 345. Retail prices and release dates are from StockX product listings, checked October 8, 2026; growth per year is (median / $130) to the power 1/years since release, minus 1, and is not given for the 2021 pair because its StockX release date (April 2022) does not match its 2021 name. Year-over-year: each listing's median in the last 12 months vs the 12 months before, listings with 10+ sales in each (the prior year includes only part of October 2024 on StockX); exact sign test (p = 1.0) and a bootstrap interval for the median change; the Barca jersey is left out because it has no full prior year. October: each listing's October 2025 median vs its August-September 2025 median, 5+ sales in each (sign test p = 0.18); October sales share for the three Skeleton Air Force 1 StockX listings selling since before November 15, 2024: 59 of 517 sales, November 2024 to October 2025. The Barca jersey figures combine its StockX and GOAT listings from August 2025 on; earlier sales at much higher prices on the same StockX listing are left out because the limited match edition may share it. StockX sells new items only; GOAT also sells used. Resale sales recorded, not total market size.
