How this works

729 days of completed sales on GOAT and StockX, October 24, 2024 to October 22, 2026, grouped by UTC calendar day (late-evening US sales count toward the next day). GOAT sales in our record begin December 28, 2024. Pairs recorded are the resale sales in our database, not the whole market, and we track more shoes over time, so raw counts from different years are not a fair comparison of demand. "Vs the 4 weeks around it" divides each marketplace's sales by the median of its own complete days in the 14 days either side, so a day is judged against its own season. The newest days fill in over a few weeks; until they are complete their counts are "so far" and they get no busier-or-quieter verdict. From May 22 to July 3, 2026 our StockX source is missing most best sellers. Most-sold shoes are sneaker listings with 3 or more sales that day (apparel, collectibles and cleats left out), ranked by sales, with the median sale price. Sneaker release rushes are each new shoe's busiest day in its first 30 days on a marketplace, for shoes with 1,500 or more sales in that month. Outside events are dated as reported in US news and are context, not causes. "In our sales data" is one fact per day picked from our own sales (the most unusual of: busiest day of its month or weekday for its season, a shoe jumping into the top 10, a 10%+ day-over-day price move with 10+ sales both days, the top shoe's share, a brand's high for the month), never the same kind two days running; volume facts only on complete days. "On this date in history" and "Born on this day" come from Wikipedia's On this day lists (CC BY-SA 4.0), ranked by how many language editions cover each article, leaning to music, sports, sneakers and culture; people whose shoes we can count come first, with that day's pairs. Past sales, not a forecast.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was the busiest day for sneaker resale?

Measured against the four weeks around it, the standout day in our record is November 28, 2025 (Black Friday), with 93% more GOAT and StockX sales than usual. Raw totals are not compared across years because we track more shoes over time.

What does 'vs the 4 weeks around it' mean?

Each marketplace's sales that day divided by the median of its own complete days in the 14 days before and after, added up. It shows whether a day was busier than its own season, which a raw count cannot, because the number of shoes we track grows over time.

Why do the newest days say 'still loading'?

Our source adds sales shoe by shoe, so the newest days fill in over a few weeks. Until a day is complete its counts are shown as 'so far' and no busier-or-quieter verdict is given.
