Air Jordan 4 'Fire Red' returns in 2027: what the 2020 pairs sell for now
The 2020 pairs sold for a median of $236 on StockX over the last 90 days, still above the $200 retail but about 20% below a year earlier. The last two times an original-colorway (OG) Air Jordan 4 came back, the older pairs on StockX sold for 9% and 22% less afterwards. With two shoes, that is a pattern to watch, not a rule.
If you own a pair of the 2020 Air Jordan 4 'Fire Red', yesterday's news was not what you wanted to read. Jordan Brand is bringing the OG 'Fire Red' back in fall 2027, according to Nice Kicks. Owners now have two questions: what is my pair worth today, and what happens to it when the new one lands?
The first one has a clean answer. Over the 90 complete days to October 21, the 2020 'Fire Red' sold for a median of $236 on StockX (542 sales) and $250 on GOAT (354 sales). That is still above the $200 retail: 94% of StockX sales and 83% of GOAT sales beat it. But the same two listings sold for $294 and $310 a year earlier. The pair has lost about a fifth of its resale price in twelve months, before anyone announced a retro.
The second question has no clean answer, but the last two OG Air Jordan 4 retros give us something to look at.

What the 2020 pairs sell for now
| Listing | Median sale | Middle half of sales | Sales | Above retail | Same listing a year earlier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| StockX, adult | $236 | $218-$249 | 542 | 94% of $200 | $294 (434 sales) |
| GOAT, adult | $250 | $223-$270 | 354 | 83% of $200 | $310 (425 sales) |
| StockX, grade school | $172 | $124-$226 | 95 | 59% of $150 | $224 (68 sales) |
Windows: July 24 to October 21, 2026, against July 24 to October 21, 2025. The drop is steeper than the model's. Across 391 Air Jordan 4 listings with enough sales in both years, the same shoes sold for 10.4% less than a year earlier, so the 'Fire Red' has fallen about twice as far as the typical pair. You can see the whole model on the Air Jordan 4 price page.
Size matters a little. On GOAT, men's 8 sold for a median of $290 (20 sales) and 9.5-10 for about $262-266, while 12 went for $223 (46 sales). Check your exact size in the price checker.
What happened last time an OG came back
Two OG Air Jordan 4 colorways came back in 2025 while we were recording sales: the White Cement (biggest sales week starting May 19, 2025) and the Black Cat (week starting November 24, 2025). For each, we took the older pair's median sale in the eight weeks ending two weeks before that week, and in the eight weeks starting three weeks after it. We did this per listing, because GOAT and StockX price the same shoe differently, and pooling them lets a shift in where pairs sell fake a price move.
| Older pair | Before | After | Change | Other Air Jordan 4s, same weeks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| White Cement 2016, StockX | $350 (143 sales) | $272 (76 sales) | -22.3% | -0.4% (138 listings) |
| Black Cat 2020, StockX | $825 (78 sales) | $750 (48 sales) | -9.1% | +0.7% (166 listings) |
| Black Cat 2020, GOAT | $581 (132 sales) | $600 (88 sales) | +3.3% | +0.7% (166 listings) |
On StockX, both older pairs sold for less after the retro landed, while other Air Jordan 4 listings barely moved. The 2016 White Cement's drop ranked in the bottom 4% of those listings, and the 2020 Black Cat's in the bottom 15%. On GOAT, the 2020 Black Cat went the other way and rose slightly.
That is not proof that a retro pulls down older pairs. Ranked against other Air Jordan 4s, none of the three moves clears normal variation once you account for testing three of them (the White Cement comes closest: two-sided rank p = 0.07, q = 0.22 after a Benjamini-Hochberg correction). And two shoes are two shoes. A collector might reasonably read the StockX numbers as a warning, and the GOAT number as a reminder that it is not automatic.
What this means for a 'Fire Red' owner
The 2020 pair is already selling for less than it did a year ago, and it is still above retail. If the last two OG retros are any guide, the weeks after the 2027 release are when StockX prices for older pairs came under the most pressure. For the reverse case, see how the Air Jordan 5 'Halloween' went under retail within a week. Past sales, not a forecast.
How we did this
Completed sales on GOAT and StockX through October 21, 2026, the last day both platforms have finished loading. Medians are per listing; "middle half" is the 25th to 75th percentile. The year-earlier figures use the same listing over July 24 to October 21, 2025. For the retro comparison, "other Air Jordan 4s" means adult Air Jordan 4 listings with 10 or more sales in both windows, excluding the older and new pair. We left out GOAT's 2016 White Cement listing: it had 15 sales before and 31 after, at prices from $61 to $400, which looks like mixed condition rather than a market move. GOAT can record used pairs alongside new ones. The model figure (-10.4%, 391 listings) is from our year-on comparison. Prices only; we do not report sales counts for days still loading.
