What this shows, and what it does not
These are completed sales we recorded on two marketplaces, not every sneaker sold in America, and a count of sales is not a measure of demand: our StockX coverage changed during 2026, so we never compare sales volume across years. Price changes always compare a shoe with itself, so a shift in which shoes sold cannot move them. GOAT also sells used pairs. Nothing here is a forecast or investment advice.
Method. Completed GOAT and StockX sales from January 1 to September 30, 2026 (UTC), $0 to $30,000, sneakers only by our footwear filter
with cleats removed (75,083 cleat pairs left out). Most-sold: GOAT and StockX listings of one shoe merged by style code.
Breakout and cool-down: the same listing's median sale in January to September 2026 vs 2025, listings with 500+ sales in both, checked on the other
platform's listing and with a Mann-Whitney rank-sum test on log prices; within-2026 moves compare January to March with July to September
(1,000+ sales in each, released before October 2025; typical shoe −3.8% over those months, 7,222 shoes).
Brands: listings with 20+ sales in both years, brands with 60+ such listings, median change with a 2,000-draw bootstrap interval, rose vs fell by an exact
binomial test, Benjamini-Hochberg q-values across brands (market: +3.2%, interval +2.8% to +3.5%).
Sizes: GOAT men's and unisex listings; size premium is each size's median over the listing's median, median across listings with 200+ sales.
